Walls closing in on Biden House of Corruption, as a not-so-special counsel is finally named.
As VP, Joe Biden was enriched by his son's shady foreign business deals. His business partner, Tony Bobulinski, confirmed that. That's smoke. The job now is to find fire. The DOJ won't make it easy.
Despite major success as a high school and college debater, I did not attend law school (big regret), so take this screed for what it's worth. It strikes this legal amateur as odd that David Weiss, the federal prosecutor/U.S. attorney for Delaware who packaged the unprecedented Hunter Biden no-jail plea deal––that was laughed out of court by the presiding judge for its outrageous leniency and lifetime immunity, when the worst of Hunter's crimes, Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) violations, have not been adjudicated––would today be designed Special Counsel by Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Something does not smell right:
1. Special counsels are customarily selected from outside the government to ensure a semblance of fairness. See Robert Mueller.
2. Garland's move contradicts Weiss' sworn testimony before Congress that he was given all the tools he needed to prosecute Hunter Biden. If true, why the sudden granting of special counsel status? Surely Weiss could have gotten that status previously if he was truly given carte blanche freedom, power, and resources. So, it seems Mr. Weiss lied to Congress. And the courageous IRS whistleblowers who confirmed that and other grotesque irregularities in the Hunter Biden investigation are telling the truth.
3. The issues around Hunter have long morphed beyond gun and tax charges, though those charges are doorways into the wider Biden family pay-to-play scheme. The charges gaining traction now are obstruction of justice and a fundamental conflict of interest in the prosecution itself, as confirmed under oath by members of Weiss’s own investigative team. For the latter to be investigated, Weiss himself would need to be removed.
4. The appointment of a special counsel at this juncture, when the heat on the President is growing, is more than coincidental. It feeds into the obstruction of justice narrative since a special counsel will de facto shut down congressional investigations into Biden family corruption, as the U.S. House will ostensibly lose its ability to call witnesses, including Weiss, throughout 2023 and 2024.
President Biden was able to thwart the initial poking around into his family's pay-to-play operation, as The Twitter Files revealed, through DOJ-paid social media censorship. At a key juncture in the 2020 presidential campaign, the DOJ worked in close contact with mainstream media, search, social media and the Democratic National Committee to silence the potentially election-changing New York Post Hunter laptop story. Biden family stooges at DOJ claimed it was "Russian disinformation.” They were buttressed in this Big Lie by 51 treasonous former intel heads who claimed the same. Those intel chiefs were set up to do so by Biden operatives, including future National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. This deft collusion between the U.S. government and Big Tech to throw the 2020 presidential election to Biden is already the basis of one House Committee probe. It should now be the centerpiece of Trump's defense in his DC freedom of speech case since Trump now has bona fide proof that the government was censoring his speech and bolstering Biden's in order to help Biden win.
The Biden DOJ, David Weiss in particular, hid the Hunter Biden football for three years, so they could run out the clock on the most serious tax charges regarding failure to report several five-million-dollar bribes delivered in Byzantine ways to the Biden family. Such bribes have been confirmed by several high-level and trustworthy whistle-blowers, including “The Big Guy’s” business partner, Navy veteran, and registered Democrat, Tony Bobulinski.
But here again is the DOJ to the rescue! With Garland's deft obstruction, House Republicans will now lose their ability to subpoena the Biden family, and Biden family accomplices, including Bobulinski, Archer, and possibly Garland and Weiss. The DOJ will again be able to run out the clock until after the 2024 election, as it simultaneously pushes for the rapid conviction of Joe Biden's chief political rival.
5. On the plus side, the appointment of a special counsel, however incurious and tainted, means that Hunter, and potentially Joe, can be now tried for their pay-to-play schemes outside their home state of Delaware, including in jurisdictions where the crimes occurred. Whether that will happen is another story, given Weiss' abysmal track record and possible corruption.
It's all pretty darn sick when you think about it. And, given the at least tacit appearance of obstruction at play, and how it ties the hands of the House, combined with at least one clear Biden Hobbs Act violation in the case of Burisma, it might be time to initiate an impeachment inquiry into the President, so that the House is free to call witnesses.
But, politically, Republicans need to be careful here. The world saw the damage that the Democrats did to America and her constitution with their half-cocked first-resort impeachment inquiries into Trump. Republicans do not have the immense power of the media, Big Tech, and the intel services behind them. They need not only smoke but real fire.
Biden’s more-than-coincidental appearance by phone or in-person at dozens of Hunter business shake-downs combined with threats by Hunter to use his dad as leverage prove Joe’s criminal co-conspirator status, as my CFR podcast makes clear, whether Joe got a dime or not. Gaining access to all the Biden family tax records will be a key next step in creating smoking gun links to the President. Let’s hope the not-so-special counsel has the courage to use his newfound power to do just that.
