Happy Birthday Adam Schiff! The Big Lie’s chief propagandist receives his just desserts.
Adam Schiff widely disseminated knowingly false foreign-sourced disinformation about Trump collusion with Russia, damaging the US Presidency, disrupting domestic tranquility, and aiding our enemies.
This past Thursday, House Democratic Representative Adam Schiff turned 63. His early birthday gift from over half of his House colleagues? A rare censure, plus what comes with it, a House Committee on Ethics investigation for trucking in the palpably false, DNC-concocted, Trump-Russia collusion hoax. A con so insidious and widely circulated that most Democrats to this day believe in its veracity despite several investigations proving otherwise.
Undaunted, Schiff vows to keep trucking in and fundraising off his lies to become the next Senator from the flailing, crime-ridden, homeless-infested, open-border, reverse racist state of California. He just might win. “Today, I wear this partisan vote as a badge of honor,” Schiff said after being forced to stand in the well of the House chamber and face the rebuke of his colleagues, as the resolution cataloging his misconduct was read aloud by the Speaker. Below are a few of those Schiff ruse highlights.
In a March 22, 2017, interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC, Schiff, then Ranking Member of the House Intelligence Committee, claimed there was "more than circumstantial evidence now" that Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign colluded with Russia, adding that he had "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation."
Schiff's claim that Trump colluded with Russia was a lie. His claim that he had incriminating evidence of Trump colluding with Russia was also a lie. Schiff had received direct reports from investigators that there was no collusion, yet he was undeterred. On the July 23, 2017, episode of NBC’S Meet the Press, Schiff stated: "[A]t the end of the day, we need to make sure that our president is operating not in his personal best interests and not because he's worried about what the Russians might have but because what he is doing is in America's best interest." In that interview and others, Schiff trucked in the DNC-crafted Steele Dossier canard that Russia had evidence of prostitutes urinating on the former President in a Moscow hotel room. Special Counsel Robert Mueller and others confirmed that this was a fabrication funded by Democrats to discredit the President and then funneled through intelligence services, media, search, and social media to leverage the President into resigning. The ringleaders of this de facto coup, including FBI Director James Comey, former CIA Directors James Clapper, and John Brennan, not to mention Schiff and execrable British intelligence scumbag Christopher Steele have yet to face justice. Despite his central role in the dark disinformation scheme, Steele continues to be treated as a trusted Russia expert by TDS-inflicted global media.
When Schiff became chair of the House Intelligence Committee in 2019, he started his own personal investigation into Trump-Russia collusion, undermining the Special Counsel created for this purpose, saying that "there may be, for example, evidence of collusion or conspiracy that is clear and convincing, but not proof beyond a reasonable doubt." Though Mueller found zero evidence of collusion, Schiff never apologized for creating a separate investigative track rooted in the same old DNC-concocted lie.
In September 2019, Schiff was found to have lied about his office's contact with a "whistleblower" (more like a DNC plant) illegally reporting on a confidential phone call between President Trump and newly elected Ukraine President Vladimir Zelensky. Schiff never apologized. Engaging in serial lying to take out a fairly elected President, thereby providing aid and comfort to America's enemies, is now known as "Schiffism."
Schiff’s scam reminds me of another Big Lie that had catastrophic consequences for America and the world. No, not the questioning of the 2020 election in which pro-Democrat social media and search, under pressure from a Democrat-dominated DOJ, censored election-relevant information about potentially criminal Biden family shenanigans as unelected political operatives overturned state election procedures without state legislative approval. Those ugly deeds were rightly questioned, as was the openly admitted conspiracy behind them, even though Donald Trump did in fact, lose the 2020 election, unfair and un-square.
The other Big Lie is the manipulation of intelligence that went into the greatest foreign policy disaster in our nation’s history, The Iraq War. The damage to America’s global standing from that decision was irreparable. Nearly 5000 American service members perished. Tens of thousands more were permanently wounded in body and mind. Nearly 300,000 civilians died. Adam Schiff voted for that war, and when confronted regarding that disastrous decision years later, he blamed faulty intelligence.
So, you’d think that of all people, Adam Schiff would be circumspect when it came to the dissemination of political disinformation masquerading as legitimate intel, knowing the catastrophic consequences that can ensue when intelligence is faulty, gamed, falsified, or politically motivated. But Adam Schiff learned nothing from the failures leading up to and following the invasion of Iraq. Eager to make a name for himself as his generation’s Sam Ervin––the fellow Harvard-trained leader of investigative committees that brought Republicans Joe McCarthy and Richard Nixon to heel––Schiff plowed ahead pell-mell into a web of lies designed to destroy yet another Republican, Donald J. Trump. While far less costly in blood and treasure, the long-term damage of Schiff’s “Big Lie” was greater. Owing in part to it, trust in congressional leaders has plummeted. Trust in truth and elections fare no better. Americans have become Balkanized, polarized, and terrorized. Schiff’s Big Lie divided the country and made screaming maniacal nutjobs out of otherwise decent friends and family. I was on the receiving end of that unhinged vitriol when I decided to engage in public service as the director of communications and senior policy advisor for a ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee.
So, when on Wednesday, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to censure Schiff, I was filled with schadenfreude. Finally, the Republican Party had grown a backbone, making Schiff, the former head of the House Intelligence Committee––before he was unceremoniously stripped of his membership for misleading the public––only the third member of the House to be censured since 2000. Others who aided and abetted Schiff’s scheme, including the corrupt, violence-promoting Representative from South L.A., Maxine Waters, should be censured too. For now, Adam Schiff will have to be the stand-in for an evil cabal of rogue DC insiders––Brennan, Clapper, Clinton, Comey, Elias, Page, Strozk, and more––who nearly brought this country to its knees.
A few years back, I passed Adam Schiff in the halls of Congress. He was smiling, stepping fast, with a beady-eyed glean. We exchanged pleasantries. For those who’ve met Schiff, his fall from grace is shocking. If you had never witnessed Schiff’s righteous hyperbolic performances on Democrat-fawning, Trump-loathing CNN and MSNBC, you’d think he was another milquetoast rep from Burbank. But that’s Schiff’s superpower: his disarming nature hides a crafty partisan dissembler.
Still, Schiff could have avoided this ignominious fate if he had copped to obvious misconduct: 1. Trucking in the knowingly false and DNC-crafted Steele Dossier, even reading portions of it into the Congressional Record. 2. Flouting the disgraced dossier as prima facie evidence of Trump-Russia collusion while knowing his own party created it as a disinformation document to destroy Trump using Russian sources. If Schiff had simply apologized for just those acts of disinformation and Russian collusion and got his party and the Hillary Clinton campaign to apologize in turn, he could have come out better. He did not. 3. Enabling the abuse of the FISA court process to unjustly entrap Trump associates. Schiff owes a particular apology to Carter Page, whose life was destroyed by Schiff's promulgation of bogus FISA court findings. In his defense, Schiff said he had no clue that low-level lawyers would lie to the FISA court. That’s rich since Schiff created the Joe McCarthy-esque environment in which anything was allowed to, as Alan Dershowitz wrote, Get Trump. Schiff should have performed due diligence to ensure that due process was being followed in his hare-brained schemes. It was not. Like Dick Cheney, who pushed intelligence agencies to come up with any scrap of preposterous intel to prove Saddam was behind 9/11 and had WMDs, however tenuous, Schiff knew he was pushing the boundaries of what was fair and true. Instead of letting the bona fide evidence lead him to the crime, Schiff, like some dimestore Slippin’ Jimmy, identified his mark and then cherry-picked “evidence” to fit his pre-ordained conclusion.
Adam Schiff owes an apology to Donald Trump for undermining his Administration, and to all Americans for pitting neighbor against neighbor, family member against family member, and worker against worker, all on behalf of Schiff’s insatiable need for nightly canonizing on CNN and MSNBC. Schiff’s egoistical lust for power and fame at the expense of his own country puts him in the league of not only Joe McCarthy but genuine political mountebanks from Nixon to Rangel to Avenatti.
In Schiff’s ongoing Niger yellow cake moment, he continues to falsely claim that a meeting at Trump Tower to discuss the Magnitsky Act was evidence of Trump-Russia collusion. False. Schiff knows that, but he keeps trucking in that lie without contrition until this day.
Mr. Schiff: what happened in and around January 6 does not magically excuse your own previous misconduct. You’d love nothing better than to get your misdeeds all muddled up with those of Trump in order to accrue some vague broad halo over your partisan efforts. Ain’t happening. On behalf of all those victimized by your evil deeds, I see you and what you are up to. You are busted. And all your protestations about {“stopping Trump “will continue to ring hollow.
If there was blind justice in America, Jack Smith would be investigating you too, Mr. Schiff, for fundraising off your repeated and unsubstantiated lies. If the citizens of California weren’t so bamboozled, they’d reject your bid to be their next Senator. In the meantime, a symbolic but powerful censure will have to do.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, who sponsored the censure resolution, put it best:
"As chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Schiff launched an all-out political campaign built on baseless distortions against a sitting U.S. president, at the expense of every single citizen in this country and the honor of the House of Representatives. With access to sensitive information unavailable to most members of Congress and certainly not accessible to the American people, Schiff abused his privileges, claiming to know the truth while leaving Americans in the dark about his web of lies… lies so severe that they altered the course of the country forever."
